Description:

The physical properties of silicon carbide nanowire:

Cubic crystal, which is a kind of crystal similar to diamond. It is a one-dimensional single crystal with high strength and beard shape. It has many excellent mechanical properties such as high strength and high modulus, which is one of the best strengthening and toughening materials.

Chemical properties of silicon carbide nanowires:

Wear resistance, high temperature resistance, special shock resistance, corrosion resistance, radiation resistance.

Recommended dispersion media: deionized water, distilled water, anhydrous ethanol, ethylene glycol
Recommended dispersant:Polyethylene imine (PEI), nonionic polyacry lamide (PAM), sodium pyrophosphate (SPP), twain 80, silicon compound coupling agent, polyethylene glycol, sodium hexametaphosphate, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), etc.

According to the experimental practice, the higher the adding amount is not necessarily the better, it is related to the raw material, material size, sintering temperature, reasonable adding amount can get the best toughening effect.

After mixing the dispersed SiC nanowire slurry and ceramic powder, continue to disperse for 1-12 hours. bead mill dispersion or mechanical stirring method is recommended. The ball milling method is easy to cause the nanowires to break.

If the mixing of SiC nanowires and matrix materials isn't so good, sodium hexametaphosphate of 1% mass of SiCNW (or a small amount of isopropanol/ethanol) can be added as a dispersant to improve the mixing uniformity.

After dispersing, dry and dehydration should be carried out immediately. Pour the slurry into a vessel with a large area to spread it thin, and increase the area will evaporate and dehydrate easily.It is more important to avoid the delamination of the raw material between the nanowires and the matrix. The recommended drying temperature is 110-160℃.
