Application for water treatment:

Nanoscale zero-valent iron (NZVI) was originally used for the remediation of halogenated organics in groundwater. It has the characteristics of strong reduction and fast response. The study found that NZVI has a better treatment effect on more than ten kinds of heavy metal ions such as silver, cadmium, chromium, copper, nickel, lead and zinc in water, and the reaction rate is as much as 30 times that of ordinary iron powder.

Also nanoscale zero-valent iron Fe nanoparticles can be used as catalyst, absorbing materials, etc.
